CitizensPrep Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 6, 2026

CitizensPrep ("we," "us," the "App") helps people prepare for their USCIS interview. We built this App to respect your privacy. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to your information.

The short version: Your progress and answers are stored on your phone, not on our servers. We have no accounts and no logins. We do not sell your data, show you ads, or track you. The only time information leaves your phone is when you use an AI feature — and only to create your practice feedback.

1. Information stored on your device

Most of what you do stays only on your phone, including: your name (if you enter it), your chosen language, your selected interview type and test version, your interview date, your practice progress, streaks, and results. We cannot see this information. If you delete the App, this information is removed from your phone.

2. Information sent to our AI provider

Some features use artificial intelligence to help you: the mock interview, the speaking coach, the Ask AI assistant, and the optional form scanner. When you use these features, the text or speech you provide (and, for the scanner, the text read from your form) is sent securely to our AI provider (Anthropic) through our secure server, only to generate your response. We do not store this information after the response is created, we do not link it to your identity, and it is never used for advertising or tracking.

If you prefer not to send any information off your device, you can simply avoid the AI features and use the study, civics, reading, and writing practice, which run entirely on your phone.

3. What we do NOT do

We do not: sell or rent your data; show advertising; use third-party tracking or analytics; create user accounts; or share your information with USCIS, any government agency, or any law firm.

4. Purchases

If you buy the one-time unlock, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We never see or receive your payment card details. Apple/Google share only whether your purchase succeeded.

5. Children

CitizensPrep is intended for adults preparing for a U.S. immigration interview. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

6. Security

Information on your device is protected by your phone's built-in encryption (and an optional Face ID / passcode App Lock you can turn on in Settings). Information sent to our AI provider travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.

7. Your choices

You can reset all of your information at any time in Settings → Reset, or by deleting the App. Because we don't store your data on our servers, there is nothing on our side to request or delete.

8. How to delete your data

Because CitizensPrep has no accounts and keeps your information on your device, you are always in full control of your data:

We do not hold any other personal information about you on our servers, so there is nothing else for us to delete.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and post the new version here.
